You can get to this part of the system by clicking on the Products link in the blue Admin Toolbar and then clicking New Product. You can also go to Products and click on Categories, then click on the Category you want (or create one) and finally click New Product.
Products in the Point of Sale
If you have completed parts one through five, your products should already be available for sale through the POS system. You can scan any barcode into the product search field in the Register as long as the number or code associated with that barcode is in the system for a product, and it will come up just fine at this point. You can also search by keyword for whatever product you might need.
The Products Module
If you don't already have a page for your site where your visitors will go to start shopping, you can create one by clicking on Website in the blue Admin Toolbar at the top of your screen, and then clicking on Navigation. In your Navigation menu, click to create a New Navigation Item. You will want choice number two: New Web Page, and you will be prompted to add the Link Text for the title as it will appear in your website Navigation. You will want to do the Search Engine Optimization Title and SEO Description so that the search engines can properly index the page and give you the best results from the start.
Once you have your shopping page, like in the example below for Shop, click to go to the page (you can click on the laptop icon in the far left side of the Admin Toolbar and then click on the word Shop in your Navigation menu). In the upper left corner of the page area, just below the blue Admin Toolbar, you will see a small triangle with a +. If you move your mouse over it, you will see a drop menu with options of how to add content to the page. For your Products module, you will want to click Add Body Content.
In the list of different types of content modules you can choose from, scroll down until you see the gray box for the different Products modules. Click the Add button for the Products module.
If you don't yet see any categories or products, that means you haven't yet set any of your products to display on the website. You can do so by going to Products > Categories and clicking down through your categories to a product you want, and below the Product Title, set Availability to Both instead of Point of Sale.
As you add products, they will automatically display on the site if you set them to do so as listed above.
The Featured Products Module
This module is an excellent way to improve your website marketing. You can feature any products already entered in the system, and it is quite easy to change them out to keep your features fresh.
There is no limit to how many products you feature, and it can be quite effective to have more than one row of products displayed this way. You can add this module to any page you like, multiple times with different products if you like, just go to the upper left corner to the triangle with the + and Add Body Content, then click the Add button for the Featured Products Module.
To configure your Featured Products module, first choose how many products per row you would like by setting the Number of Columns. To enter products, you can either scan a barcode into the search field or enter keywords to choose from a drop-list.
It is best to add products in multiples of the number of the number of columns you set, so for example, if you had four columns, you would want to add either 4, 8, 12, or 16 products, and so on.
The Featured Categories Module
This is another module that can add impact and results to your online marketing efforts. This module allows you to feature entire categories of products, so for example, if you get a new product line or collection in stock, you can add those products into a category and very easily feature them on any page of your website using this module.
To configure your Feature Categories module, first set the number of categories you want to display in each row on the page by setting the Number of Columns.
You can easily add as many categories as you like by clicking to add them one at a time on the blue + button. You will see a list of all categories currently set up in the system in your Products module and simply clicking on the one you want will add it to the active list. This works ideally if the category has an image added already; if you don't have an image for a category you want to feature, it is highly recommended you go to Products > Categories, click on the blue pencil for the category you want, and add either a Jpeg or PNG image of at least 400 pixels to represent that group of products.
