There are couple of things have to happen after you start your account with Worldpay (formerly Vantiv) in order for you to get set up in our system. They will ship you your processing terminal(s) along with setup instructions. Here are the terminals that work with the Rain Point of Sale system:
Verifone MX915 - This versatile terminal can facilitate card swipes, EMV chips, on-screen signatures, and manual card entry for phone orders.
Ethernet: The Ethernet cable should be plugged into the port closest to the power cable on the device, and connected directly to the router as seen below:
Power: The power cable should be connected directly from the device to a wall port or extension cable.
Ingenico iSMP4 - This terminal can be used for remote events. It will still need to connect to a wi-fi network, but can be operated remotely for trade shows and other events, if needed. It has a magstripe card swipe reader in the top of the unit, a slot for EMV chip card insertion in the bottom, and incorporates a barcode reader in the top you can point at your barcode labels.
iPP320 - This terminal has a small footprint, and is good for swipe/EMV. It is not portable, and this model does not capture signatures, but it is an affordable option.

Initial System Setup
On our end, we will make your Rain Point of Sale system ready to integrate with Worldpay. When it is ready on our end, you will see a Vantiv tab if you go under the gear-shaped button on the right of our blue admin toolbar, click Settings > POS Settings, and the Vantiv tab will be there.
If you have received your hardware from Worldpay and you do NOT see the Vantiv tab, please call our support at 877-909-6699 and we'll get it ready for you. (Please note, we will be updating the tab to say Worldpay in the near future.)
Setting Up Your Hardware
Follow the instructions included in the packaging of your Worldpay processing terminals. When you plug in the Ethernet cable that goes from your processing terminal to your router, make sure you use the Ethernet socket that is closest to the power jack, as in the image below.
Any one of the four ports on the left labeled in blue could be used on this router to plug in the Ethernet cable from your new processing terminal. Your router may have its Ethernet ports numbered differently, and that's okay, feel free to use any available Ethernet port.
Please note the Internet port (also sometimes called a WAN port) is not to be used: it is for the Ethernet cable that comes from your wall jack and delivers internet data from your internet service provider.
For the processing terminal, make sure to plug the Ethernet cord into the closest port to the power jack, as pictured below.
Once your hardware is set up and you have the Vantiv tab mentioned above in your POS Settings, you are ready to configure the terminal to work with the system.
Integrating Your Worldpay Terminal
You can get to this part of the system by clicking on the Gear-Shaped Button on the far right side of the blue Admin Toolbar and then clicking on Settings > POS Settings > Vantiv.
After completing the hardware setup detailed above for your Worldpay processing terminal, on the terminal screen, you will see an Activation Code. Please note, the steps below are also what you will use if a problem arises and you have to reset your terminal configuration.
Click the Gear-Shaped Button on the right side of the blue Admin Toolbar and go to Settings > POS Settings > Vantiv.
If you can see the Activation Code in your processing terminal display, click the green Add New button on the Vantiv tab, and the Add Hardware panel will open. At the top, you'll see a description of the terminal activity you'll see after adding the Activation code.
Steps for Adding Hardware
- In the Activation Code field, enter the Activation Code exactly as it appears in your Worldpay processing terminal.
- The Description field is purely informational, and many people just enter the Till name, or the model of processing terminal, or just a brief title for the terminal. There are no wrong answers, the field is for your reference, but you need to enter something into the Description.
- Click the button next to the Till with which you want the terminal to be associated. Please note, that the terminal will only work with ONE till. When you use the Register to process transactions, to use your integrated Worldpay processing terminal, you will need to be logged into the specified Till.
- Click the Add button.
Your terminal is now integrated! To test the integration, go to the Register and log into the appropriate Till, then run a test transaction for a cheap item and click the Credit Card payment method.
The Add Credit Payment panel will open and will show the Amount, which you can manually adjust, if needed. Once you're ready to send the payment to the terminal, click the Pay button.
The terminal will receive the information for the amount from the Register, and will indicate that it is ready to either dip or swipe a credit or debit card. Visa Debit and U.S. Debit will be offered as choices, and Visa Debit requires an on-screen digital signature, while U.S. Debit requires just the PIN code for the card.
After your test transaction, you can go to Reports > End of Day and click to open it, then Void the transaction so it doesn't affect your books.
