Stashify is an online marketplace powered by quilting & sewing retailers. For more information, check out the video below!
Q&A from the Webinar
Can stores that offer both in-store shopping and that have a solid online sales presence participate?
Yes. Stashify is an industry-specific marketplace so only brick-and-mortar quilt stores can join. Web-only businesses can apply to join but they have to be able to bring something unique. The primary purpsose of Stashify is to support the quilting industry, which we feel rides on the back of brick-and-mortar stores through their support of local communities, events, classes, and more. If a web-only business has a unique selection of products or can demonstrate that they also support their community through local events/classes, etc. then we will consider them.
What about vacuum stores?
We'll be focusing on quilt kits for now, with plans to expand into sewing machines, vacuums, needle art, and more.
How will this integrate with our online stores if we want products on Stashify?
There will be a button which will let you choose to participate or not. From there, all your kits will be automatically added with the ability to you to opt out with certain products.
Will the consumer know where the kit or product is coming from? Will shops be listed?
Yes. We want the stores to be as visible as possible while maintaining a consistent brand experience. We're not quite sure about all the aspects of how this will be handled yet but we will be working closely with participating stores to ensure a good experience.
How will shipping work?
Shipping will be a static rate determined by Stashify. We have to balance consumer and retailer needs to facilitate a good shopping experience.
How will payment processing be handled?
Processing will be done through Stripe which is a marketplace-specific payment processor.
What fees are you expecting to charge?
A small percentage will be charged on every sale but no listing fees or hidden fees will be charged. That percentage will remain flexible for a while we determine what is best for the shops.
Are UPC codes needed for kits?
No. UPC codes will only be required for items received from manufacturers.
How can we control what Stashify will highlight?
Listings on Stashify will be fairly distributed among all participating shops. Undercutting, underselling, and other factors that will result in unfair sales will not be permitted.
How in-depth will kit descriptions need to be?
Good descriptions will be required on all listings. Taking time to make them 50-75 words/kit with clear descriptions will help improve sales.
Will there be a cost to participate?
No. There will be no risk to participating stores. The only fee will be a small percentage if you sell an item.
Will this be available outside the US?
Not at this moment. We have plans to expand into other countries but it will take a little time to grow.
Will packaging be provided by Stashify or the retailers?
We don't have plans to initially provide packaging but that may be a possibility down the road.
How many kits will be required to participate?
Only one or more kits will be needed!
How will inventory be synchronized with the POS?
Since all the sellers on Stashify will be LikeSew users, inventory will be updated in real time.
How will individual sale prices from stores work with Stashify.
Sale prices for fabric and other items that could be available from multiple stores will be managed by Stashify to promote equal distribution of sales.
Will there be a BOM kit program?
Not initially but this may be a possibility in the future.
