New
Enhanced Customer NotesWe now have the ability to keep a history of notes on the customer profile. Our previous solution was a single text field that displayed as an alert in the Register. This made the following things difficult:
- See which employee took the note.
- See when the note was taken.
- Visually see the separation of notes.
The enhancement leaves the old Notes field functioning in the same way it always has, but adds an additional place to take notes.
A good example of where this will be helpful is when a customer has an overdue account with the store. A manager calls the customer and records a note: Called customer today and discussed their overdue account. If they pay this week, we can waive the late fee. Later in the week the customer calls in to pay and claims that the manger gave approval for the fee to be waived. The employee that answers the phone is clearly able to see that the customer indeed was given permission by the manager to have a waived fee.
The video linked below demonstrates the new functionality:

Notions Marketing Integration
The vendor integration with Notions Marketing is live. This enables automated Purchase Orders, Receiving Orders, and the ability to pull your Rain-system Low Inventory items into your shopping cart at the Notions Marketing website (please note: at present, this last function is in final testing and we expect it to be fully working soon). Click here to learn more about how you can set this up.
Improved
Store Pickup Locations for Subscriptions
We now take into consideration the store’s set pickup locations when populating the list of available pickup locations for Subscriptions on the web. This was causing a lot of confusion for the store and customer when the store would have more than one Location and they did not let customers pick up in secondary locations.
This specifically changed the subscription pickup list in three areas:
- The Register Subscription sign up panel.
- The Subscription product page on the website.
- The subscriber panel on the Subscriptions page.
Tax Exempt Customer Setting
Added support to specify if a customer is tax-exempt for products, classes, or services. This has been released again. We had a short amount of time this was out in the settings UI, but the function was not being respected in the Register. All should work as expected now.

Recurring Payment Tokenization with NMI
We have made some changes to the way NMI tokenizes cards. Previously, it was required that NMI processed a sale to save a card. Because of this every time a card was tokenized with NMI we would charge $0.01 and then immediately refund it. We have rebuilt this in a way where that the charge and refund is no longer required. Customers will no longer see this charge when they tokenize a card. This was only for tokenizations that didn’t have payments associated with them. So for example, previously if someone signed up for a Subscription online with a registration fee, they would not see the $0.01 charge/refund, but they would have if there was no initial fee. Now no one will ever see that.
Product Details Tab Options & Styles Interface Improvements
Coming Soon! We have rolled back the update described below as it was causing some issues with the Reverb Integration. I will post here when it is released again. - Andy
- We have made a few small changes to the Edit Product page, Details tab (the first tab that comes up when you open a product), and we've added some functionality.
- We have made many back-end improvements to speed up the page, specifically for products with many styles / options. With these changes, customers should confidently be able to have a few hundred styles without concern.
- We collapsed the style list near the top of the section to display just the total number of items for each style. The full information displayed previously was redundant, and products with hundreds of styles caused this to take up the entire page.
- We added a search field to find styles easily when there are many on the page.

Fixed
Reverb Duplicate Customer Bug
Fixed an issue where duplicate customers would sometimes get created from Reverb orders.
Duplicate Conditions Bug
Fixed a bug that was occasionally causing the serialized conditions to show as duplicates for stores. This caused problems because a store wouldn’t know which Brand New option to put pricing with, print labels for, etc.
Bin Locations Not Printing on Barcode Labels
Prior to this bug fix, the bin location didn’t print on a barcode label when creating a new product until it was saved. This was very time consuming to save and click back into the product every time someone needed to print bin location. We have rebuilt this functionality to allow printing bin locations on labels when a product is entered even if it isn’t saved yet.
